RW Hadley-style Iris Vase Shape 229B by W.SedgleySedgley, Walter. From 1889 to 1929. Painter of roses and other flowers, golden pheasants, also general subjects and especially Italian garden scenes. Was apprenticed in 1891. His colleagues regarded him as the finest of the Hadley rose style painters and he taught many of the later painters of the style. No relation to Thomas Sedgley. Died in the early 1930s from T.B. of the spine.
